Travel Truths, Told Better
Out of Office Outfitters is for the people who are technically home but mentally somewhere with a boarding pass, a hotel reservation, and a drink they paid entirely too much for.
The ones who start planning the next trip before the current one is over.
Who have Google Flights bookmarked.
Who know airport coffee hits differently.
Who say “we should move here” at least once per vacation.
And who have absolutely made a financially questionable decision because the flight was a really good deal.
Yeah. You’re our people.
It started with a love of travel, then it got more specific.
Hi, I’m Melissa — traveler, obsessive itinerary maker, former travel advisor, professional overpacker, and the person behind Out of Office Outfitters.
I started OOO because I love what travel leaves behind.
Not just the big, postcard-worthy moments. The little ones.
The airport rituals. The inside jokes. The vacation personalities that somehow appear the second the out-of-office message goes on. The drink you still talk about. The hotel you would absolutely move into. The phrase your travel partner says every single trip. The story that makes absolutely no sense to anyone who wasn’t there.
Those are the things I wanted Out of Office Outfitters to capture.
So the brand evolved into something that felt a lot more like the way I actually travel — and, apparently, the way a lot of you do too.
Enter: Travel Truths
Travel Truths are the things travelers instantly recognize because they’ve lived them.
Window Seat Energy.
One Bad Day Away From Booking a Flight.
Passenger Princess Wrangler.
Mentally at the Beach Bar.
The kind of phrase that makes you stop scrolling and think:
Well, that was unnecessarily specific.
That’s the point.
We turn those tiny, oddly universal pieces of travel life into hats, apparel, accessories and travel goods designed to feel like something you’d genuinely want to wear, pack or carry — not something destined for the back of the souvenir drawer.
A little funny.
A little aspirational.
And occasionally a little unhinged.
Just like vacation planning.
Made for Travelers not for Tourists
There isn't one right way to travel around here.
You can have a color-coded itinerary or absolutely no idea what you're doing tomorrow.
You can book the boutique hotel, take the cruise, spend three hours finding a restaurant no one on TikTok has mentioned yet, or decide the pool chair is today's cultural experience.
You can love five-star hotels and street food.
You can want the hidden gem and the ridiculously popular thing that's popular because, inconveniently, it's actually fantastic.
Travel doesn't have to be a personality.
But if it accidentally became yours?
Welcome.
The things you actually want to bring with you.
OOO is built around pieces that can become part of the trip instead of just reminding you of one.
Broken-in hats that belong in the airport.
Comfortable layers for freezing planes, early coffee runs and nights when the temperature drops approximately seven degrees and suddenly everyone needs a sweatshirt.
Totes and accessories that earn their suitcase space.
And increasingly, elevated travel goods that look good enough to leave on the hotel counter while still having enough personality to make you laugh.
Because useful doesn't have to be boring.
Funny doesn't have to look cheap.
And travel-inspired doesn't have to mean putting an airplane on everything.
We're aiming for the sweet spot between “where did you get that?” and “oh my God, that's me.”
Small drops. Big vacation energy.
Some OOO pieces stick around.
Others are inspired by a season, a destination, a very specific travel delusion, or something I couldn't stop laughing about — and only stay for a limited time.
That's why you'll see rotating collections and new Travel Truths throughout the year.
Members of the Out of Office Crew get into the Crew Lounge first, where new drops land before the public shop and a few pieces never make it outside at all.
Because if we're going to have a travel club, obviously there should be perks.
And yes, there's a real traveler behind this.
OOO isn't a giant company trying to figure out what travelers think is funny.
It's a small business built by someone who is currently thinking about her next trip.
I'm the planner in my marriage. My husband is the passenger princess.
I will research twelve hotels, compare seven flight combinations, make a spreadsheet, find the tiny local experience, pack enough medication to open a small pharmacy and then act like the entire vacation simply came together on its own.
Travel is what I spend an unreasonable amount of my free time talking about, researching, planning and doing.
So most Travel Truths start with something I've said, done, witnessed, packed, booked, Googled or texted to my husband.
And the best ones usually make other travelers say:
“Wait. I do that too.”
That's Out of Office Outfitters.
For wherever you're headed next.
Maybe you're counting down to a flight. Maybe you just got home. Maybe you're sitting at your desk pretending you aren't checking airfare in another tab.
Either way, there's probably a Travel Truth for you.
And if there isn't yet? Give me time.
I have another trip coming up.

Wear them. Live them. Take them anywhere.
